Northfield church to bless pets

NORTHFIELD — The Trinitarian Congregational Church at 147 Main St. will hold a blessing for all pets, both present and those who have passed, during its first Blessing of the Pets service on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m.

The church invites community members to bring their pet, or bring a photo or favorite toy or its ashes, to be blessed in a ceremony conducted by Michele Lawler. There will be music by Patter Field and Ted Thornton, who will sing “All God’s Critters Got a Place in the Choir.”

This shortened service will start at 10 a.m. and end at 10:45, followed by treats for one and all. For more information, call Michele at 413-575-7218.

St. Patrick’s Church taking orders for Sept. 26 meal

NORTHFIELD — St. Patrick’s Church at 80 Main St. will hold its next to-go dinner on Saturday, Sept. 26, with pickup from 3 to 5 p.m.

The meal will include sweet Italian sausage, served with onions and peppers, rice pilaf, salad, rolls and dessert. Each meal costs $15 and credit cards are accepted.

Sept. 28: ‘Fitbitters Luncheon’

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Senior Center will offer a light lunch, alongside an opportunity to set personal health goals, support others and cheer successes, on Monday, Sept. 28, at 11:30 a.m.

Fit Bits or smart devices are required to participate. Some devices will be issued through grant funding.

There is a $5 suggested donation. Advance registration is required by calling 413-648-5413.

Sept. 29: Online safety

NORTHFIELD — Visitors to the Northfield Senior Center can learn about privacy and safety settings, safe web searches, text and email safety, using delete/trash successfully, and protecting themselves from scams on their cellphones and laptops with Anne Wiley, Cyber Seniors specialist, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sept. 30: Learn how to make crepes

NORTHFIELD — Join Deb Ryder at the Northfield Senior Center on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. for a hands-on crepe-making class.

Attendees will learn techniques for creating both sweet and savory crepes, along with ideas for fillings and toppings. Beginners and experienced cooks alike will leave ready to make this versatile dish at home.
