12:23 p.m. — Traffic stop on Main Street. Jeremiah Russell, 25, of Armory Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to violate drug law, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, trafficking in 18 grams or more/less than 36 grams of cocaine and carrying a dangerous weapon. Also arrested was Alexander Scott Fisher, 33, of North Leverett Road in Leverett, on charges of possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, trafficking in 18 grams or more/less than 36 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violations.
3:15 p.m. — Report of a possible sinkhole on Mill Street. Found to be road debris, not a sinkhole.
Tuesday, Aug. 4
1:11 p.m. — Caller requesting speed enforcement more regularly in the Meadow Lane area after seeing pedestrians almost get struck. Reporting party advises motorists are speeding in the evenings and on Saturdays. Traffic data recorder to be deployed.
5:00 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Turners Falls and Loomis roads. Reporting party states a male party on a scooter and a female party in the road are causing a disturbance. Female is yelling at the male and she has hit two cars. Photos gathered and information taken to assist with pending charges. Female party was moved along.
5:31 p.m. — Party looking to follow up with an officer regarding an incident at Turners Falls and Loomis roads. Party was angry that the female party was not arrested. Party was advised she would be contacted by mail if her attendance is needed in court.
7:44 p.m. — Report of a crash with injuries at Main and Colrain streets. Male party in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle. All involved parties are alert and talking. Male party was stopped behind an island with tall flowers and plants, and the driver was unable to see him. Male party was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Wednesday, Aug. 5
1:32 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Energy Park on Miles Street. Two parties seen on camera messing with an electrical box. Male and female parties were attempting to charge their phones. No issues.
6:28 a.m. — Report of a vehicle that looks like the door is tied shut and it is full of trash. Unable to see occupants inside. Reporting party states it is parked in the drive-thru lane at Greenfield Cooperative Bank on Federal Street. Found to be a custodian, nothing needed.
1:25 p.m. — Taylor Rose Martin, 28, of Princeton Terrace in Greenfield, was arrested on Wisdom Way on charges of assault and battery, strangulation/suffocation, and assault and battery on a child with injury.
Thursday, Aug. 6
7:51 a.m. — Report of a skunk doing barrel rolls in the roadway at Prospect and Congress streets. Caller doesn’t know if it is rabid, sick or injured. Animal control officer advised. Skunk was secured and removed.
12:14 p.m. — Sara Lyn Simpson, 31, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested in the area of Highland Park/Highland Pond on Mountain Road on a charge of being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant, as well as on a warrant.
2:09 p.m. — Reporting party from Silver Crest Lane wants to speak to an officer about some juveniles yelling at him. Four kids darting around on e-bikes or scooters. Reporting party was advised if they come back and cause an issue to call police.
11:45 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a male party sleeping on the grass in front of his neighbor’s house on Phillips Street. Reporting party attempted to make verbal contact, but got no response. Joshua Allen Sanford, 42, of King Road in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
Friday, Aug. 7
8:25 p.m. — Report of a disturbance on Conway Street. Three females involved in a fist fight. Teen rift about a boy. Situation mediated.
8:27 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person on Chapman Street. Female party banging on the back door. Sherlene Hylton-Taylor, 45, of Deerfield Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of vandalizing property (two counts) and attempting to commit a crime.
10:13 p.m. — Report of a vehicle operating erratically. Silver vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road, headed eastbound on Silver Street. Latoya Tashe Josey, 43, of Armory Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, OUI-liquor over .08% (second offense) and a marked lanes violation.
Saturday, Aug. 8
12:09 a.m. — Caller, who was very hard to hear or understand, requested police “get people to the Victoria Bar right now.” Dispatcher then heard yelling and the phone disconnected. Additional call from bar staff on Chapman Street stating there was a fight outside with multiple people involved. No weapons reported. One party made a racial slur toward another party and attempted to provoke him. Parties separated. Peace restored.
12:58 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Green River Park on Petty Plain Road. Unknown male caller states there were gunshots in the park. Caller disconnected. No answer multiple times on callback. Not as reported. Officer states no shots were fired. A male party was hitting golf balls into the woods.
1:05 a.m. — Bartender from the Victoria Bar on Chapman Street states the same people who caused a verbal fight earlier are gathering outside again. Would like officers to keep an eye on it, doesn’t want them to fight again. Crowd dispersed upon police arrival.
9:15 p.m. — Female party on Prospect Street called 911 making threats to kill everyone at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Party was upset over the music coming from SoulFest. Party was advised that the music would be turned off soon, but responded that she would make a report to the FBI about the Greenfield Police Department. Party called back two more times stating the festival was still too loud.
10:06 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Abbott and Davis streets. Five parties fighting. One party detained. Charges pending for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
Sunday, Aug. 9
1:47 a.m. — Party from Congress Street states someone is knocking on his door again and making a lot of noise. Rachel Leonilda Loso, 35, of Congress Street in Greenfield, was placed in protective custody and later transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
5:25 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person on Oakland Street. Simple assault occurred yesterday over a television. Situation mediated. Parties were advised of options.
7:07 p.m. — Traffic stop on Bradford Drive. Robert Thomas Stafford, 71, of Bradford Drive in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of a marked lanes violation, OUI-liquor over .08% (second offense) and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Monday, Aug. 10
1:36 a.m. — Traffic stop at the Interstate 91 rotary. William Alexander Shepard, 71, of East Hartford, Connecticut, was arrested on charges of OUI-drugs, possession of a Class B drug (three counts), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a one-way street violation.
6:11 p.m. — Report of two male parties removing stuff from a bucket loader and putting items into a black sedan at Mill Street and Power Square. Reporting party states a black Honda Civic left heading east on Mill Street. Property was returned. Involved parties were advised to reach out to J.S. Rae for permission to take waste material.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
12:11 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at BJ’s Wholesale Club on Colrain Road. Female party left in a small black sedan without paying for about $130 worth of items. Report issued.
12:38 p.m. — Reporting party states three dogs have been in a vehicle on Federal Street for more than an hour panting. Windows are partially down. Animal control officer responding. All three dogs were removed from the vehicle. Interior of the vehicle was 94 degrees, with the dash being 132 degrees. Dogs were returned to the owner and a citation was issued for an unregistered vehicle. Owner was told not to operate the vehicle.
1:58 p.m. — Report of unwanted individuals at Animal Crackers on Deerfield Street. Three parties sitting on the stoop, one possibly intoxicated. The three parties claim they live upstairs. Jose R. Alicea, 32, of Colrain Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
9:33 p.m. — Staff of Call’s Corner Store on Conway Street report a male party dressed in all black and wearing a mask approached the store, saw other customers and went to the bushes at the back of the building. Officers checked the area, unable to locate anyone matching the description.
Wednesday, Aug. 12
10:13 a.m. — Report of a collision on Conway Street involving two e-bikes. No injuries. Minor damage to one bike.
1:05 p.m. — Report of a parking problem on Deerfield Street. Caller is concerned about a Subaru regularly parking halfway on the sidewalk. Vehicle gone on arrival.
4:31 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Leyden Road. Richard D. Vincent, 67, of Leyden Road in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
Thursday, Aug. 13
4:13 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at Stop & Shop on the French King Highway. Mark E. Kuklewicz, 48, of Fifth Street in Turners Falls, was arrested on a larceny charge.
9:04 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Green River Park on Petty Plain Road. One party states they were assaulted by another party, male and female heard yelling in the background. Farrah Marie Kuklewicz, 49, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a larceny charge.
Friday, Aug. 14
12:02 p.m. — Report of a female party with a small child on a bicycle on the Mohawk Trail. The child is in front of the female and does not have a helmet on. Unable to locate.
3:01 p.m. — Report of a vehicle rollover with no injuries on South Shelburne Road. Contacting animal control officer for loose dog. Matthew P. Jarvis, 48, of South Shelburne Road in Shelburne Falls, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, unregistered motor vehicle, no inspection/sticker, using an electronic device while operating a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
9:05 p.m. — Party reports a $350 Trek mountain bike was stolen from Lovers Lane within the last three hours. White mountain bike with a leather seat and black handle bars. Party advised he does not have a home security system and just wants the incident logged.
Saturday, Aug. 15
7:27 a.m. — Disturbance reported at the Greenfield Farmers Market at Court Square. Party was yelling at people and being argumentative with staff. Party was moved along.
11:51 a.m. — Report of speeding vehicles on Bernardston Road. Caller stated officers could use the bottom of her driveway, if needed, to stay safe. Ran radar, no violations.
3:56 p.m. — Report of an individual setting up a tent in the middle of a parking lot on Conway Street. Male party was cleaning his tent and equipment. No issues, will move along.
9:11 p.m. — Traffic stop on School Street. Grabiel Ortiz, 42, of Devens Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of OUI-liquor over .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, improper turn: left or right, driving at a rate of speed greater than what was reasonable and proper, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer (two counts).
Sunday, Aug. 16
3:42 p.m. — Reporting party from Harrison Avenue states she hears neighbors fighting, slamming doors. Male party left, possibly in a black Honda, unknown direction. Not as reported, spoke with a male party who was sitting outside with his child on the deck. Did not observe anything of concern.
6:47 p.m. — Party looking to speak to an officer about losing her wallet with all her IDs, debit/credit cards and personal checks. Party was told to cancel all cards and call the bank. Wallet was returned missing around $200 to $250, but it still contained $500 and cards. Manager of Green Fields Market is going to look at footage.
