Northfield, MA – Curtis Shepard, 80, of Northfield, Mass., passed on Friday , April 3, 2026 at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born March 1, 1946 in New Britain, Ct., the son of Dunham and Marjorie (Curtis) Shepard. He graduated from Cheshire Academy in 1964 and University of Massachusetts of Business in 1969. He happily married the former Joyce Smith celebrating 57 years of marriage together. Curtis spent his career working at Erving Paper Mill and Kenametal in South Deerfield but more importantly, he loved to travel with his wife and family, traveling to most of the states, and both ends of Rt. 1 in Maine and Florida. Additionally, he was a member of the Harmony Lodge in Northfield. He enjoyed bowling and loved getting together with his family. If you knew Curtis, you will forever remember his appreciation for all moments spent together within the highs, lows, and in-betweens of life bragging about his family in each opportunity possible. Within this time of remembering Curtis, he will be most remembered for what he did best, sharing smiles, air orchestrating bands to Elvis music, and his most common phrase of appreciating everything around him, “this was so nice.”
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Sharon Moses and her husband Michael of South Hadley, a son William Shepard and his wife Ibelisse of Florida, a sister Pamela Kavanaugh of Vernon, Vt. And Grandchildren, Michael Moses Jr., Rachel Moses (Christopher) and Dylan Shepard (Alejandra). He was pre deceased by a sister Nellie Shapard.
Graveside services will be April 9, 2026 at 11:00A.M. At Pine Grove Cemetery, Depot St., Hinsdale, NH. The Rev Derek Irvine will officiate.
