DEERFIELD โ Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan and Franklin County’s interim Sheriff Lori Streeter are endorsing Corinne Coryat in the race for state representative of the 1st Franklin District.
Sullivan and Streeter cited Coryatโs experience serving the district and her commitment to practical, community-focused leadership as key reasons for their support. Coryat has served the residents of the 1st Franklin District for the past five years in the office of former state Rep. Natalie Blais, who resigned on Jan. 19.

โCorinne has the experience, deep knowledge and genuine passion for public service,โ Sullivan said in a statement. โShe not only understands the real challenges facing Franklin County, but she has the proven ability to deliver results. Corinne will be a tireless advocate and a powerful voice for our communities on Beacon Hill.โ
โI am proud to support Corinne for state representative,” Streeter said in a statement. โThrough her experience as chief of staff to former state Rep. Natalie Blais, she understands the legislative process and what it takes to effectively serve the district. She brings both deep knowledge of the State House and a strong sense of responsibility to the people she represents. I am confident she will use her position to advocate thoughtfully and deliver real results for the community.โ
Coryat, a Williamsburg native who now resides in Deerfield, said she is “deeply grateful” to receive the endorsement of Streeter and Sullivan.
โBoth have devoted their careers to making our communities stronger,” Coryat said of the interim sheriff and district attorney. “Their leadership exemplifies what it means to make government work for the people and Iโm proud to have their support as we continue to fight for a better future for Franklin County.โ
Coryat’s campaign focuses on strengthening schools, expanding clean energy solutions, investing in infrastructure and transportation, and ensuring that rural Franklin County receives its fair share of state resources. She is up against challengers Johnathan Creque, a Greenfield resident and former staffer for U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren; Whately Town Clerk Amy Lavallee; and Greenfield City Council President Lora Wondolowski. The victor in the November election will be sworn in next January to represent the 1st Franklin District, which includes the towns of Ashfield, Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Hawley, Heath, Leverett, Leyden, Monroe, Montague, Rowe, Shelburne, Sunderland, Whately, and Precincts 5, 6, 7 and 8 in Greenfield.
