Jane Sadowsky

South Deerfield, MA – It’s with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we say goodbye to our beloved Jane Sadowsky. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 19th and found her Angel Wings.

Jane was born to the late William J Erman and Sophie (Cackowski) on September 29, 1946. She grew up in Hatfield and South Deerfield and graduated from Frontier Regional High School and Westfield State College with a degree in Elementary Education. Jane went on to teach at the Old Deerfield Grammar School where she became the head teacher and she also taught at Frontier Regional High School. She cherished her students leaving many with fond memories.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, sister, teacher, friend and caregiver. More than anything Jane wanted to make sure everyone was well cared for and knew that they were special. Jane met her husband, Don, the love of her life, at a Polka dance. They were married for 52 years. Jane very much wanted to be a mother. She and Don were blessed with their first miracle son, Paul, and shortly thereafter were blessed with their second son, Bill.

Jane took her faith very seriously. She was a charter member of the Franklin County Deanery and the Diocesan Parish Religious Educators Association as well as the St. Anne’s Society at Holy Family Church and Cursillo. Jane led religious education at her parish for many years and saw her ministry in the church as much as a profession as her public school teaching.

Jane leaves behind her husband, Donald Sadowsky, her sons Paul Sadowsky and his partner Isabel Demetropoulos, Bill Sadowsky and his wife BJ UrsaNova, her brother Billy Erman and his wife Karen, her twin nieces Melissa Erman and Sarah Guy and her husband Jeff, her granddaughters Lilly and Erika, and many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Hodges.

To know Jane was to know care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Parish or a charity of one’ s choice. To honor her memory, spend some time with those you love. Be a caregiver to those in need.

Services will be at Holy Family Church in South Deerfield on Wednesday, March 25th with calling hours beginning at 9am at the church, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. There will be a gathering following Mass in the Pope John Paul II Center for refreshments and to share memories and remember, Jane.
