6:02 p.m. — Multiple calls reporting an issue with a transformer on Dry Hill Road. One caller reports there is a green light flashing. Other reports of power issues. Eversource notified.
Tuesday, Dec. 16
6:39 p.m. — Reporting party states two boys are riding scooters on Avenue A and throwing items toward the trash receptacle, but are not picking up the trash that is missing the receptable. Would like an officer to speak with them. Officer spoke with the boys and they picked up the trash.
7:17 p.m. — Reporting party on Old Sunderland Road states there is a dog sitting on his porch. Caller does not recognize it from the area. Caller would like an officer to pick it up and take it to the shelter given the temperature outside. Reporting party located the owner of the dog. Police response canceled en route.

3:47 p.m. — Low-hanging wire reported on West Mineral Road. Verizon contacted.
Thursday, Dec. 18
10:06 a.m. — Reporting party on L Street states her vehicle was sideswiped overnight and there is some damage. Report taken.
1:12 p.m. — Hypodermic needle located on Bernardo Drive. Object located and disposed of.
5:31 p.m. — Two-vehicle crash reported at the intersection of Routes 63 and 47. No injuries. No smoke, fluid or flames. Officers advised.
Friday, Dec. 19
4:29 p.m. — Traffic stop at Montague City Road and Greenfield Road. Oscar Olvera-Soto, 39, of Thayer Street in South Deerfield, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Released on personal recognizance.
7:28 p.m. — Low-hanging wire reported on Hillside Road. Verizon contacted. Company states there are six pages of reports of wires down, so it could not provide an estimated time of arrival. Barricades and cones set up.
Saturday, Dec. 20
9:40 a.m. — Tree down on Smiarowski Road, blocking one of the travel lanes. Officer was able to push the tree to the side of the road and requested a message be left for the Department of Public Works to remove it on Monday. Downed tree is out of the way of traffic but could possibly be hit by a plow.
Sunday, Dec. 21
3:13 a.m. — Employee at Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road states he had to kick out a customer who was being aggressive and threatening. Male party is currently sitting in a black SUV outside the store. Gone upon officer’s arrival.
3:22 a.m. — Employee at Cumberland Farms on Montague City Road had a second customer who was aggressive and swearing at him over use of the bathroom. Employee was advised of the procedure for getting no-trespass orders through the Sheriff’s Department.
Monday, Dec. 22
8:46 a.m. — Reporting party states there are seven needles on the ground in the 11th Street alleyway. Items picked up and secured.
11:20 a.m. — Caller on West Chestnut Hill Road reports a black sedan sideswiped her vehicle pretty hard while she was driving. Other involved vehicle did not stop. Officer located the reporting party’s vehicle. Damage and airbag deployment observed. Officer followed the trail of vehicle debris on East Chestnut Hill Road. Suspect vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Jetta, was located parked at one of the homes, still warm to the touch and with damage. No answer at the door. Vehicle’s owner came home and saw the damage, but has no idea how it happened. Reporting party’s vehicle towed. Report taken.
Tuesday, Dec. 23
9:35 a.m. — Two-vehicle crash reported at the intersection of Turners Falls Road and Turnpike Road. Tows requested for both vehicles. Report taken.
7:31 p.m. — Caller on Walnut Street reports someone tried breaking into her apartment last week and today she found an envelope filled with $600 in cash under her doormat. Ring camera video footage viewed. Could see a male party put the envelope under the mat. Area checked, unable to locate male party. Reporting party was advised to hold onto the cash until the investigation is complete. Tenants were advised to contact the landlord regarding ongoing issues and to call 911 to report any disturbances.
Wednesday, Dec. 24
9:44 a.m. — Passerby reports a couch is partially in the roadway on Millers Falls Road, near Lake Pleasant Road. Couch moved, Department of Public Works will pick it up.
5:35 p.m. — Reporting party on Montague City Road states the fire alarm is sounding at the downstairs neighbor’s residence. No smoke or flames observed. Contact made with the resident, who burnt food. Smoky but no active fire. Turners Falls Fire Department responded.
Friday, Dec. 26
10:16 p.m. — Officer checking on a vehicle off the road at Unity and Third streets. Tow requested. Heavy front-end damage but no injuries.
Saturday, Dec. 27
8:07 a.m. — Department of Public Works employee who was driving a loader states he was involved in a collision with another vehicle at Millers Falls Road and Cross Street. Tow requested for the van. Report taken.
Sunday, Dec. 28
11:38 p.m. — Caller on Fifth Street reports finding a male party on his porch upon arriving home. Reporting party does not recognize him. Male party reportedly said he has a hurt back and needed medical help. Reporting party felt uncomfortable and left the area. Officer out with the male party, who has a gash near his eye. Services rendered.
Monday, Dec. 29
4:19 a.m. — Caller on Third Street reports she left bone broth on the stove and awoke to smoke in her building. No fire. Call transferred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.
3:11 p.m. — Reporting party on G Street states someone stole a shovel off her porch. Wants it on record. Officer advised.
7:20 p.m. — Vehicle off the road at West Main Street and New Street. No damage. Officers were able to push the vehicle out of the snowbank.
Tuesday, Dec. 30
11:27 a.m. — Report of wires down across the road at Maple Street and Goddard Avenue. Eversource notified. Officer requesting the Department of Public Works bring barricades. Barricades set up.
7:04 p.m. — Hit and run reported on J Street. Incident involved a dark-colored SUV with Vermont plates and a male driver. Vehicle headed toward Family Dollar. Officer advises the other involved vehicle will be parked there overnight until a spare tire can be put on. Not a traffic hazard at this time.
Wednesday, Dec. 31
10:00 p.m. — Officer out with a vehicle near the Turners Falls Municipal Airport. Vehicle with a flat tire. Officer assisting with traffic and providing light.
