Northfield Mount Hermon swept the third Mount Institute Ski League Race on Wednesday. It was a two-run slalom in brisk conditions at Berkshire East Mountain Resort in Charlemont.
The Northfield Mount Hermon girls squad led the way with 331 points. Deerfield Academy was second with 329 points. Bement School came in third with 261 points.
Rowan Skinner from Deerfield Academy was the top individual finishers with a combined time of 85.27. Wylie Benedetti (86.04) and Ellie Pinkham (86.65) of Northfield Mount Hermon were second and third, respectively. Cecelia Cramer of Deerfield Academy placed fourth (88.38). In fifth (91.41) was Northfield Mount Hermon’s Lydie Pinkham. Reese Schaefer was Bemont School’s top individual finisher in seventh place (95.40)
On the boys side, Northfield Mount Hermon placed first with 330 points. Deerfield Academy was second with 319 points. Eaglebrook School took third place overall (247).
Beckett Baird of Deerfield Academy took first overall (81.61). Sam Rotermund of Northfield Mount Hermon placed second (82.30). Deerfield Academy’s Jackson Stram was third overall (82.83). Porter Beaule (83.05) and Sumner Finley (85.07) were fourth and fifth, respectively, for Northfield Mount Hermon.
Boys basketball
Four Rivers 53, Williston 30 โ The Otters went on the road and came back to Greenfield with a win over the Wildcats. Cooper Whitney and Henry Schwerin both had 11 points in the win. Kolin Broderick added eight points for the Otters.
