The wins are stacking up for the Greenfield hockey team after a 4-3 road victory over Westfield in Berry Division play at Amelia Park Arena on Wednesday. Greenfield (5-4-1, 4-3-1 Berry) has now won five straight.

The Green Wave jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead after two goals by Luca Siano. Shawn Beckwith and Chase Zraunig assisted on the first goal. Shawn Baumann picked up an assist on the second goal.

Westfield scored with 14 seconds left to send Greenfield into the first intermission with a 2-1 lead. Both teams played a scoreless second period. Jack Laurie scored in the third period, assisted by Luca Siano. After a power play goal by Baumann, the Green Wave held a 4-1 lead in the third period. Luca Siano and Nico Siano assisted on the Baumann goal.

Ben Johnston made 35 saves for the Green Wave. Greenfield hosts Hudson High School in an independent contest on Saturday at 6:30 at Collins-Moylan. Joseph Maffia, Christian Andwood and Brody Hollister scored for the Bombers.

Girls basketball

Narragansett 49, Turners Falls 23 โ€” Jojo Hayman scored 11 points, but the Thunder lost to the Warriors in Baldwinville in independent play.

Bethany Whitney added five points for Turners Falls (0-8).

Wrestling

Frontier 54, PVCICS 24 โ€” The Redhawks beat the Dragons in a Suburban league match up at home. Michi Como pinned Eunice Lo (5:55) at 113 pounds. Jocelyn Antes followed with another win by fall (5:46) over Farees Chabi-Yo at 120 pounds.

Konnor James (157) and Jacoby Merrill (175) also won by fall for the Redhawks (4-3, 1-1 Suburban). Both matches lasted less than a minute.

At heavyweight, Max Hunter pinned Qipeng Chen in 30 seconds.
