“I just started making my layups,” Bergeron said. “I think we actually ran our plays this game. Rather than just trying to go too fast.”

Greenfield (3-2, 2-0 Franklin South) recovered nicely after a road loss to Baystate Academy. Getting Bergeron involved more was a focus after halftime.

“We tried to open up Tayler a little more,” Greenfield coach Ben Johnson said. “She was getting focused. They (Mohawk) have some tall girls that kind of sat in the paint a little bit so we wanted to spread them out a little bit more. Open those lanes to let Tayler drive.”

After a jumper by Gloria McDonald, the Green Wave went into the fourth quarter with a 31-24 lead. The defense held from there for Greenfield. McDonald finished with nine points for the Green Wave.
