A New Hampshire man who worked for a Greenfield bank is set to be arraigned in Pittsfield District Court on charges of enticement of a child under 16 for sex and two counts of dissemination of obscenity to minors, according to court documents.
Kevin De Rosa, of Claremont, New Hampshire, was released on $7,500 bail on Nov. 7, a day after his arrest. His arraignment was continued to Nov. 25. According to a police report, De Rosa worked as a vice president at Greenfield Savings Bank and associate professor at River Valley Community College. Massachusetts State Police had previously identified De Rosa as residing in Greenfield.
De Rosa was one of 56 individuals arrested in Operation Firewall, a three-day child exploitation sting operation conducted by Massachusetts State Police in which 25 people were charged with possession of child pornography and 19 were charged with enticement of a child. Others were arrested for failing to register as a sex offender as well as on outstanding warrants for rape and assault and battery on a child.
De Rosa had been allegedly exchanging sexually explicit photos and messages with an undercover police officer that he believed was a 15-year-old girl, intending to meet her for sex, according to court records.
An arrest warrant application submitted by State Trooper Dana Clement shows more than a month of Facebook messages and text messages between De Rosa and Clement, who was posing as a 15 year-old girl.
The report states De Rosa sent the trooper graphic images of his genital area, expressed a willingness and plan to meet a minor for sex, and described in explicit detail the sexual acts he wished to perform on the person he believed was a 15-year-old. He, at some points in the chain of messages, appeared to express hesitation on whether to meet her or wait until she was 16, the age of consent in Massachusetts, and wondered if she might be “trying to somehow trick” him to get him in trouble due to her age.
Also arrested in the sting operation was Thomas Dolan, 68, of Amherst, who was charged with enticement of a child.
