I have a question for those who supported the current president in the past election. In the first week of his presidency, he has:

Pardoned more than 1,500 insurrectionists, many of whom were violent against Capitol Police as they threatened the lives of members of Congress and the vice president; frozen cancer research and has prohibited science labs from communicating with each other and the public; threatened to end FEMA during this age of increasing natural disasters; promised to increase drilling for fossil fuels, which are largely responsible for those increased natural disasters; started raids on immigrant communities, which has resulted in many of those who have grown and harvested our food to go into hiding, raising the prices of our groceries; placed a sexual predator and alcoholic in charge of our military; withdrawn from the Paris Accords, which is focused on combating the rising temperatures that threaten our survival; withdrawn from the World Health Organization; nominated billionaires with no experience in the agencies for which they are nominated; gotten rid of thousands of civil servants who have done the day-to-day work of the government unless they pledge to kiss his ring; fired 17 inspectors general who have helped to keep our government functioning, and much more.

To my mind, we are less safe; the planet is less safe; the economy will tilt even more to the rich, with their increased profits coming out of the programs that help the poor and directly from their pockets, many of whom are the people he promised to champion; and he has made the government less transparent so we can’t see what he is actually doing.

He’s doing what he promised he would do, so you could have, should have known this was coming and yet you voted for him. Is this what you had in mind when you voted for him? What were you thinking?
