GREENFIELD — The Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee will hold a community panel discussion on enhancing livability in Greenfield on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Planning Office, 114 Main St.
The evening will begin with a 20-minute panel discussion moderated by At-Large City Councilor Ashli Stempel. The panel will feature community experts, including Community Development Administrator MJ Adams speaking on housing; Planning Board member George Touloumtzis speaking on transportation; and John Lunt, assistant to the mayor for Special Projects, speaking about Greenfield’s downtown.
“There are exciting things happening in Greenfield,” Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee Chairwoman Nancy Hazard said. “Our goal is to create an event to share progress toward goals outlined in the master plan, and give the public the opportunity to ask questions or share their concerns or ideas in regard to Master Plan implementation.”
Greenfield Master Plan was written by residents and published in 2014. It reflects the vision of what residents want the city to look like in 10 years.
Housing, transportation and the downtown are three of the seven elements that the AARP highlights as key to assessing livability. Other topics, which include neighborhood, environment, health, opportunity and engagement, will be addressed in future gatherings.
