I want to thank you, our readers, for your forbearance the last couple of issues, which looked awful, I know.
As we indicated in a brief note on the front page of both Monday and Tuesday issues, our printing press broke down, forcing us to shift printing of those editions to our sister paper in Concord, N.H. That meant squeezing our normal four-section, full-color paper into a gray two-section edition.
It was better than missing a day, but it sure looked awful and we missed out on publishing some high school tournament games, as some of you let me know.
Of some consolation, for those with high-speed Internet anyway, was that we were able to publish on Recorder.com. everything you’d normally expect to see in print.
But we know most of you prefer a printed paper, and so behind the scenes lots of Recorder staffers scrambled and worked hard, long hours to make a paper that could be printed in New Hampshire and shipped back to us by our normal delivery times.
We apologize if some of you were inconvenienced or startled by the appearance of the emergency edition, but we were pleased we managed to deliver to you the day’s news without interruption despite the adversity.
