Thank you to reporter Anthony Cammalleri and the Recorder for publishing the article about the innovative programs supported by the Massachusetts Trial Court (“Promoting Justice,” March 21). I write only to make a minor correction regarding the make-up of Changing Lives Through Literature. For the past decade, we have had the great good fortune to partner with Greenfield Community College for this worthwhile program.

CLTL is a book club comprised of probationers, judges, probation officers and a GCC professor who facilitates the discussion. After many years with Leo Hwang as the professor and a hiatus due to Covid, we were able to restart this past year thanks to GCC president Michelle Schutt and Professor Brian Kapitulik. We met weekly for 10 weeks to read and discuss literature. In our discussions we covered heartfelt topics which indeed changed the lives of all of us. Once again, through this program, our community college demonstrates its commitment to our community. We are all so lucky to have this local resource. Thank you, GCC!
